it's spring?

It's supposed to be spring but it still feels like winter. Heavy rain and record low temps I think is taking its toll. Someone asked me whether I liked the rain, I just said, "It was nice yesterday." This weather is not conducive to being creative and/or energetic. Blah.

I came across this site www.missdu.com. How creative is that! Or they just have lots of time on their hands.

Entertaining news of the day! Naomi Campbell was arrested for allegedly bashing her housekeeper on the head with an 'object'. Could it be her cellphone again? If she's convicted, she could face jail time. I somehow doubt it. In the words of Tim Gunn, I would've have "bitch-slapped her" and put some sense into her. www.tmz.com

joke time

An airline's passenger cabin was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone into a good mood as he served them food and drinks.

As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and announced to the passengers, "Captain Marvin has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, lovely people, so if you could just put up your trays that would be super."

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed that a well-dressed rather exotic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle.

"Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines. I asked you to raise your trazy-poo so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."

She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess. I take orders from no one."

To which the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country, I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up bitch!"

Friday wetness

Was San Francisco wet or what? I had an appointment to see my dermatologist in the Richmond and it was crazy getting there. The rain was relentless and it was very windy. Umbrellas were useless. I was hoping to take pictures of Clement St but it was so darn gray that it would not have given justice to Chinatown West. I had a late lunch at Singapore-Malaysia restaurant. I ordered low bak and Singapore-style bihoon noodles. That block between 9th and 10th Ave is like restaurant row - one restaurant next to each other. I debated whether to hang around that area but decided to head to Union Square. Like a foolish tourist, I stood in the rain and started taking pictures.

san francisco

It's been awhile since I've posted. I'm surprised this account is still active. It's now 2006 and I've been to France twice since I last posted. Friends and family have been to other countries. Unfortunately, we still have the same man heading the country. I've been reading lots of blogs lately and my favorites seem to be about cities and shopping. I have decided that I will start a blog about the fabulous Bay Area and beyond. I will post pictures I/we have taken, pictures of interest to me, etc.. We'll see. I will either get so focused on this or this will be all a big fantasy.

I had an appointment yesterday to visit sfhostels at 312 mason st. I was dreading it as I thought it was not really necessary to visit their facilities in order to add them to the hotel list that I hand out at my work. I'm actually glad I did and the general manager who gave me a tour was very accomodating. It was quite interesting to see how, if you did not have much money to spend for accomodations, the idea of hosteling would be appealing. The rooms were nice and clean and so were the bathrooms and the location is very ideal. The visit changed my idea about hosteling. Check them out at www.sfhostels.com.
