Wishes for 2007
I read this online and wanted to share it on this last Friday of 2006.May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for $100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy. May the problems you had, forget your home address! May 2007 be the best year of your life!

a good time was had by all
In hindsight, the dinner menu was quite ambitious. How to divide the time to cook, serve, drink and entertain all at the same time? What was the timing going to be like? Will we be able to cook correctly after a few drinks? It took a lot of pre-planning and plotting and the food came out looking and tasting fab. Our friends who were all foodies were happy and since we were discussing the current Michelin Guide, they gave us deux macarons.

sprouts in brussels?
Thanks to buzzgirl, I can now say I like brussels sprouts. She has a recipe that completely turned me around. Instead of bacon, I used pancetta that I blanched beforehand to remove some of the saltiness. And like her, how I wish lardon is readily available here in the US. Funny anecdote, the last time E and I were in Paris, we bought a couple of packages of lardon and froze them. We put them in our luggage and 'smuggled' them into the US. The things we do for good food!

I just found your blog! Didn't realize you two
were on Blogger too.
I am so grateful that you listed mine. My hits are
increasing, and I bet some are from your readers--or their friends.
Love

what I am currently listening to
This, to me, is by far the best of the Hotel Costes series. Every time I listen to it, it just reminds me of Paris. Très chic. Favorite track is demain matin by Djako.

red ribbon
I've added a red ribbon to the left to commemorate World AIDS Day today and to remember friends who died.
